Development

GALVABAU AG was founded in 1987. Although a young enterprise it is able to look back on a number of years of experience in the electroplating and metal finishing field. Back in 1942 the founding stone was laid in a copper and tin works. In those days the customers were mainly hotels ordering copper utensils which were then tin plated.

In 1947 Hugo Schnyder, who is now active at GALVABAU AG, managed the copper and tin works. He changed his field of operation to a mechanical one, as a result of the fact that hotels were using more and more stainless steel.

From 1955 contacts were established with large companies in the galvanic area. The company was reorganised and GALVABAU AG was founded in 1987 - a step supported by Alfred Schnyder who, to this day, holds a major position on the board of directors.

A milestone in the history of this young company was in 1994 when the company was taken over by management based on an MBO decision. The board of directors, strengthened by a highly motivated team of employees, is eager to face the growing challenges of tomorrow.
